Gonzalo Carranza

2010 HEAD COACH

Coach Gonzalo Carranza was born in Argentina and raised in Brazil. As a youth, Carranza played in the Brazilian Academy System until he moved to the United States to play collegiate soccer. In January of 2023 he was named the first head coach of Xavier University of Louisiana Men's Soccer Team.

Carranza coached the men of Eastern Oklahoma State College in 2022 to a 12-6-3 record, a district championship, a berth at the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I nationals and a No. 19 national ranking.

The Gold Rush will compete for honors in the Red River Athletic Conference and the NAIA. XULA will offer the city's first intercollegiate varsity men's program since the University of New Orleans in 1985. It will be the only men's varsity program at a four-year school in the southern part of the state.
